Nationally Recognised Training (NRT)

The Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) logo is produced by the Australian Government, and is used as a mark of quality for vocational education and training. The NRT logo is used by ERGT on all Australian Quality Framework (AQF) Statements of Attainment. The NRT logo will always be accompanied by the course name and code of the Unit of Competency achieved under the AQTF. By displaying the NRT logo, ERGT Australia demonstrates that we:
- are a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
- are registered to offer the training and assessment services advertised
- provide training and assessment strategies that lead to nationally recognised Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) statements of attainment
- are an organisation that is complying with the quality requirements of the standards.
RTO & AQTF Compliance
ERGT Australia is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), using the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) as a benchmark for demonstrating commitment to improving our quality of service, delivery and assessment strategies. ERGT demonstrates the use of the AQTF to provide customers with:
- Nationally recognised competency based training
- High quality facilitated learning in an environment that is relevant to industry
- Increased accountability for training and assessment decisions.
Competency Based Assessment
Competency based assessment is the collection of evidence by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to demonstrate that a trainee can perform to the standard expected in the workplace, as expressed in the relevant endorsed industry competency standard. As a trainee on an ERGT competency based training course, you will be required to complete one or more of the following methods of evidence collection:
- Written and/or verbal quiz
- Trainee workbooks
- Practical skills demonstration
- Verbal questioning relating to adaptation and transference of skills and knowledge.
Certificate Issue
All certification and Statements of Attainment are issued in accordance with the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). On successful completion of a course at ERGT Australia you will receive a certificate that states the competencies that you have achieved, and the date that you completed the course.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows for recognition of competencies currently held, regardless of how, when or where the learning occurred. On reviewing RPL documents, our trainers have to ensure that the trainee is currently competent against the endorsed industry or enterprise competency standards. Trainees must meet the outcomes specified in National Training Packages and Units of Competence for RPL to be granted.
RPL evidence may be in a variety of forms including certification, references from past employers, testimonials from clients and work samples. Please contact us to discuss your RPL evidence.
Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation (OPITO)
OPITO is the most recognised global standard—a quality assurance framework from the United Kingdom. ERGT are proud to provide several courses to this standard, including:
- Tropical Basic Offshore Survival Induction & Emergency Training (TBOSIET)

- Tropical Further Offshore Safety & Emergency Training (TFOET)
- Basic Offshore Survival Induction & Emergency Training (BOSIET)
- BOSIET Bridging (TBOSIET upgrade to BOSIET)
- Further Offshore & Emergency Training (FOET)
- Offshore Installation Management (OIM) Assessment.
All certificates and statements obtained within the OPITO framework will display the OPITO logo. For further information on ERGT OPITO accredited courses, please view our Offshore Survival Courses and/or Incident Management Courses
Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) Maritime Qualifications
The approval authority for maritime qualifications in Australian waters is the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).
In order for ERGT to be able to deliver recognised courses from the International Maritime Organisations (IMO) Standards of Training and Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers (STCW – 95), AMSA must approve the training provider. In 2001 ERGT received approval from AMSA to deliver our first AMSA approved short course. For further information on ERGT AMSA accredited courses, please view our Offshore Survival Courses and/or Emergency Response Courses
