Personnel that are required to work at height or depth.
PRE-REQUISITES: None.
DESCRIPTION:
This competency unit aims to provide the skills and knowledge required to apply safe working practices when working at height or depths.
CONTENT:
The underpinning knowledge requirement provided for this unit includes:
- The names and functions of equipment, components and materials including manufacturer’s instructions and specifications
- Safe shifting and handling of tools and materials
- Relevant statutory and regulatory authority requirements
- The nature of work undertaken a height
- Height safety systems
- Processes of providing for safe working practices.

ASSESSMENT:
Assessment of underpinning knowledge will be by way of oral questioning and written assessment. Trainees will also be required to demonstrate competence through practical scenarios simulating work tasks at height.
CERTIFICATION:
On successful completion of this course, trainees will be issued with a Statement of Attainment in MNMG237A Work Safely at Heights.
DELIVERY METHOD:
3 hours of classroom theory PowerPoint presentations, including audio-visual material, practical desktop activities and discussion.
5 hours of practical components using specialised equipment in a range of work simulated scenarios.
