ERGT’s (RTO 2534) OPITO Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (TBOSIET) course content covers offshore-specific safety induction, helicopter safety and escape, sea survival and fire fighting and self-rescue. Note: Trainees are required to supply a completed medical clearance for the HUET component prior to starting the course, using the HUET Medical form.
DURATION: 2 days or 2.5 days (dependant on availability) LOCATIONS: Perth, Darwin & Melbourne
This course is essential for personnel who are new to the offshore oil and gas industry, and therefore require this safety and emergency response training and assessment to work in a warm water (tropical) environments.
To prepare participants for successful completion of assessment activities the following content is delivered:
Helicopter Safety and Escape:
Sea Survival and First Aid:
Fire Fighting and Self Rescue:
PMAWHS214 Undertake helicopter safety and escape PMAWHS215 Apply offshore facility abandonment
and sea survival procedures and practices
Note: Denture problems may restrict participants ability to complete the EBS competency.
A Medical Clearance completed by a medical practitioner within three months of the start of the course. Please see the Medical Form HUET Medical for a list of accepted Medical Clearances.
Upon successful completion trainees will be issued with:
- A record of achievement in OPITO TBOSIET, as well as a TBOSIET identity card.
Additionally, trainees may be issued with the following if all requirements are met:
- Statement of Attainment in PMAWHS214 Undertake helicopter safety & escape
- Statement of Attainment in PMAWHS215 Apply offshore facility abandonment & sea survival procedures & practices
