ERGT Australia’s (RTO 2534) Control Workplace Incidents (CWI) program develops the understanding and skills in responding to minor workplace fires and spills and in operating in the role of Fire Warden. Fire response equipment includes fire extinguishers, fire blankets and hose reels. Spill response equipment includes containment, neutralising and absorbent equipment and materials. The role of Fire Warden includes identifying an emergency, initiating initial response, anticipating escalation, facilitating effective evacuation and post initial response activities.
LOCATIONS: Perth, Darwin, Melbourne & On Site
This course is designed for those who may be required to safely respond to and contain small workplace incidents.
Upon successful completion trainees will be issued with a Statement of Attainment in:
- PUAWER008B Confine small workplace emergencies
(Prepare for emergency situations, Identify and assess the
emergency, Safely confine emergencies where possible, Use initial response equipment, Report workplace emergency response)
- PUAWER005B Operate as part of an emergency control organisation (Respond to emergency reports, signals and warnings, Initiate and control initial emergency response, Anticipate the further development of emergencies, Assist with post initial response)
- MSMWHS205 Control minor incidents (Evaluate the incident, Control the incident, Conclude the incident control)
This course is delivered through classroom presentations, activities and participant discussion as well as practical components within a simulated workplace environment using specialised equipment. Trainees will demonstrate their competence through direct observation, oral &/or written assessment & practical exercises.
