DURATION: 2-day program for up to four Masters
Emergency Management at Sea covers the role of the Master of a vessel as the Incident Commander to manage critical incidents at sea on a vessel.
ASSESSMENT CONTENT: A range of emergency scenarios will take place to ensure the standards of performance are covered. Each scenario will be based around a major incident, whilst the vessel is underway, chosen from:
REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE : Trainees should have comprehensive experience operating on a vessel and have had the opportunity to take control of the response as Incident Commander in an offshore environment. Documentation for the provision of evidence demonstrating understanding of on-board emergency procedures and control processes is required. ERGT Australia will provide templates for the completion of the required skills and knowledge prior to the course.
RE-QUALIFICATION: ERGT recommends requalification takes place every two to three years.
