COURSE OBJECTIVE:
Through instruction and practical demonstration of effective management of incident-related information, course delegates will demonstrate the ability to effectively manage the corporate responsibilities during critical events that may impact the company’s reputation, commercial viability or incidents that may incur significant liability. The training includes practical processes to define responsibilities, allocate resources, and consider long term business continuity and recovery.
MAINTENANCE:
ERGT recommends Crisis Management Teams regularly practice their roles through planned scenarios and exercises with the assets or sites on an annual basis as a minimum.
METHOD OF TRAINING:
This course is
run as an introductory session for all team members and then specific sessions
for the respective roles and functions within the team. These include Team
Leadership, Finance, Human Resources, Legal and Stakeholder management
including Welfare and Media response. Team members will be provided with theory
lessons, information, and tools to manage the Crisis Management teams’
responsibilities and be provided with the opportunity to practice the skills
required to process incident-related information to manage an incident. This
includes scenario-based training sessions, conducted in the centre and a
debriefing following each scenario session.
COMPETENCY:
Demonstration of competency both internally and externally is becoming more relevant in today’s litigious environment. The team will be assessed on performance and understanding, depending on the function and role within the Crisis management team. Those assessed as proficient will receive a Statement of Attainment in the competency relevant to their position.
