Offshore Installation Manager Re-Assessment

ASSESSMENT AIM:
Re-assessment may be required under company Safety Case requirements within three years from the date of initial certification. This course is designed to maintain competence of OIM's to combat major offshore incidents.

DURATION:
1 Day

COURSE OBJECTIVE:
The course covers re-assessment of the Incident Commander to verify the on-going competence of Offshore Installation managers to manage critical incidents.

ASSESSMENT CONTENT:
A range of emergency scenarios will be provided to allow an appropriate re-assessmen to be completed by a qualified OIM. Scenarios will be based around a major incident, chosen from:

  • Well control incident
  • Explosion and fire
  • Accommodation fire
  • Helicopter incident
  • Pipeline incident
  • Collision or wave damage causing structural collapse
  • Loss of stability (mobile installations)

COMPETENCY:
The focus of the re-assessment process is to maintain competence against the PMAOHS511A Manage Emergency Incidents. The assessment will determine the participant's ongoing competence to manage offshore incidents. A Recognition of Current Competence (RCC) certificate will be issued to those delegates who undertake reassessment to PMAOHS511A manage Emergency Incidents competency.

METHOD OF TRAINING:
A half day familiarisation and simulator practice session is provided prior to the re-assessment process against the PMAOHS511A criteria. Trainees who successfully complete this course will be issued with a RCC certificate to PMAOHS511A Manage Emergency Incidents.

ASSESSMENT PRE-REQUISITES:
Candidates for re-assessment should supply a copy of their initial certification to PMAOHS511A or OPITO OIM - Controlling Emergencies standard if not completed at ERGT Australia
